When you buy tickets on Ticketmaster, the price shown when selecting your ticket is the face value price, inclusive of Consumption Tax. This is not the full amount you'll pay; applicable per-ticket and per-transaction fees are shown separately when reviewing your order at checkout. You’ll always know the full cost of your order before completing your purchase.
You can see a full breakdown of all fees that apply to an event by selecting More Info on the event page. The final total - face value plus all applicable fees is always shown before completing your purchase and confirming your order.
Who Sets Ticket Prices?
The face value of a ticket - the base price inclusive of Consumption Tax before fees is determined by the Event Organizer. They consider various factors such as production costs, venue size, and interest in the event when setting this price.
As part of their ticketing strategy, Event Organizers also determine how many tickets to sell, when to put them on sale and when to share prices. The face value price shown when you select a ticket won’t change during the purchase process.
What Fees Aren’t Included Up Front?
Ticket fees on Ticketmaster aren’t included in the upfront face value price. Instead they are itemised and shown separately on the event page under More Info, and again during checkout. You’ll see exactly what you're being charged for before completing your purchase
Depending on the event and how you choose to pay for and receive your tickets, some or all of the following fees may apply in addition to the face value price:
- Service Fees - a per-ticket fee which includes:
- System Usage Fee
- Special Sales Usage Fee - applies to certain presales or special on-sales, where applicable.
- Ticket Issuance Fee
- Payment Fee - a per-transaction fee that may apply and varies depending on the payment method you choose.
- Delivery Fee - a per-transaction fee that may apply and varies depending on the delivery method you choose.
These fees are shared between the various parties that help make the event happen. This commonly includes venues, Ticketmaster, service providers, sports teams, leagues and promoters.
